Directed by Steven Spielberg and starring Tom Hanks and Catherine Zeta-Jones, The Terminal follows an Eastern European traveler who becomes stranded inside New Yorks JFK Airport after political upheaval invalidates his passport. Combining comedy, drama and romantic elements, the film explores isolation, bureaucracy and human connection through the daily life of a man forced to live within the airport terminal. Spielbergs story blends heartfelt character moments, cultural misunderstanding and urban confinement through one of Tom Hanks most understated performances of the 2000s.
