Michael Manns Thief (1981) follows James Caan as Frank, a master safecracker yearning for a clean break from crime. When a mob boss offers him one final, high-stakes heist, Frank is forced into a dangerous web of betrayal and violence. Blending neon-soaked style, a haunting Tangerine Dream score, and a gritty exploration of loyalty and obsession, Thief remains a landmark in heist cinema and neo-noir storytelling.
