Barbra Streisand and Ryan O'Neal star in this screwball comedy directed by Peter Bogdanovich. When music professor Howard Bannister (O'Neal) travels to San Francisco with his uptight fiancée Eunice Burns (Madeline Kahn), he meets carefree Judy Maxwell (Streisand) soon after his arrival in the city. She is immediately drawn to him and decides to stay in his hotel as she attempts to pursue him. When their bags, which are identical, are confused with the bags belonging to two other guests which contain a collection of valuable jewellery and some top-secret government documents, a desperate chase across San Francisco ensues as everyone seeks to reclaim their belongings and prevent the jewels from being stolen by a pair of desperate hotel employees. The cast also includes Kenneth Mars, Austin Pendleton and Mabel Albertson.
