Directed by Ken Russell and based on the novel by D. H. Lawrence, Women in Love stars Glenda Jackson, Oliver Reed and Alan Bates in a romantic drama exploring relationships, sexuality and emotional conflict in early 20th century England. Glenda Jackson won the Academy Award for Best Actress for her performance in the film. Set against changing social attitudes and intellectual life in post-World War I Britain, the film became one of the defining British literary adaptations of its era.

Ken Russells lauded D H Lawrence adaptation is a sophisticated meditation on the complexities of human relationships and the shifting social mores of a country shell-shocked by World War One.

Women in Love was hailed upon its release, earning four Academy Award nominations, and the Best Actress Oscar for Glenda Jackson. Audiences flocked to see its famous, erotically charged naked wrestling scene, and critics celebrated the films opulent design, handsome cinematography and the compelling ensemble performances of Alan Bates, Jennie Linden, Oliver Reed and Glenda Jackson. Often regarded as Russells masterpiece, Women in Love endures as one of British cinemas finest achievements.
