Directed by Ridley Scott, Black Rain stars Michael Douglas and Andy Garcia as New York police officers who escort a Yakuza suspect back to Japan. Ken Takakura and Yusaku Matsuda co-star in a crime thriller set between New York and Osaka, where police procedure, cultural conflict and organized crime collide. The film combines late-1980s urban crime cinema, Yakuza conflict, Ridley Scotts visual style and Michael Douglas in a hard-edged cop role.
