Directed by Tim Burton and starring Johnny Depp, Freddie Highmore, David Kelly and Helena Bonham Carter, this fantasy family film follows Charlie Bucket after he wins one of five golden tickets granting access to Willy Wonkas mysterious chocolate factory. Based on the book by Roald Dahl, the film combines Burtons distinctive visual style with elaborate fantasy environments, eccentric humour and a story about Charlies family and his encounter with Wonka.
