Directed by Sam Raimi, Evil Dead II stars Bruce Campbell as Ash Williams in the second film in the Evil Dead franchise. The film returns to the cabin-in-the-woods setup with demonic possession, the Book of the Dead, splatter effects and a stronger horror-comedy tone than the 1981 film. Bruce Campbells Ash became the central franchise figure, later continued in Army of Darkness and Ash vs Evil Dead.
