After an operation in Prague ends with most of his team dead, Hunt is accused of betraying the agency and must uncover the real mole while operating outside the IMF. Mission: Impossible 2 (2000)
Directed by John Woo, Mission: Impossible II stars Tom Cruise as IMF agent Ethan Hunt alongside Thandiwe Newton, Dougray Scott and Ving Rhames. Hunt recruits professional thief Nyah Hall to infiltrate the organisation of renegade agent Sean Ambrose, who plans to exploit a deadly synthetic virus and its antidote. The second Mission: Impossible film shifts the series towards large-scale action with martial-arts combat, motorcycle pursuits, undercover espionage and John Woos stylised gunplay.

The third Mission: Impossible film combines espionage, conspiracy and large-scale action with operations in Berlin, the Vatican, Shanghai and Virginia.
