Directed by Niki Caro and starring Liu Yifei alongside Donnie Yen and Jet Li, Mulan presents a live-action adaptation of the Chinese legend about a young woman who disguises herself as a soldier to protect her family and serve the Imperial army. The film combines large-scale battlefield action, martial-arts-inspired combat and historical fantasy elements through Disneys reinterpretation of the Mulan story. Featuring war-driven storytelling and stylized wuxia-inspired action, the film blends military conflict with themes of honor, sacrifice and identity.
