Rocky is an American sports drama directed by John G. Avildsen, following an underdog boxer from Philadelphia who gets a once-in-a-lifetime chance to fight the heavyweight champion. Blending personal struggle, romance, and discipline, the film focuses on dignity, self-worth, and perseverance rather than victory itself. It won the Academy Award for Best Picture and launched one of cinemas most enduring franchises.
