Brian De Palmas The Black Dahlia (2006) adapts James Ellroys noir novel based on the infamous 1947 Los Angeles murder of Elizabeth Short. Two detectives investigating the brutal case are drawn into a web of corruption, obsession, and Hollywood decadence. Visually lush and morally decayed, it channels De Palmas signature style into a haunting neo-noir tragedy.
