Hammers The Vampire Lovers (1970) is a lush, Gothic horror classic that blends Sheridan Le Fanus Carmilla with Hammers trademark mix of atmosphere, eroticism, and bloody vampirism. Ingrid Pitt dominates the screen as the seductive vampire Carmilla, preying on young women in mist-shrouded castles. Mixing period Gothic chills, supernatural folklore, and transgressive exploitation, this cult Hammer entry remains one of the most iconic works in the lesbian vampire cycle of the 1970s.
