Directed by Steven Spielberg and starring Tom Cruise and Dakota Fanning, War of the Worlds reimagines H. G. Wells science-fiction classic through the perspective of an ordinary father struggling to protect his children during a catastrophic alien invasion. Combining large-scale destruction, survival-driven suspense and apocalyptic sci-fi imagery, the film follows humanitys collapse as extraterrestrial war machines devastate cities and military forces fail to contain the attack. Spielbergs adaptation blends emotional family tension with invasion horror and large-scale disaster spectacle.
